Reading...

Lately, I have been reading a lot, and am finding less books for me to read. So, I am calling for books to read or poetry. I have been re-reading Tolkien and Austen, lately. Also, I have been reading Maynard. So... here is my plea, what should I read next? Last week I read a book in three days.

I will leave you with some poems, since I found them very sweet or compelling to the mind.

Autumn Morning
An hour ago I could not see for mist
These hills that now are rich in green and gold-
Under a sky of palest amethyst,
And in an air benignant, shrewd and cold.
Hardly perceptible is any change:
Rime on the grass, and stillness as of prayer
Each morning; and it strikes the heart as strange
To find some branches are already bare.
Each tingling dawn the winter draws more near,
While time stands breathless, rapt in loveliness,
Staying awhile the passage of the year
To gaze upon the woods' brocaded dress;
And I, when one leaf flutters from a branch,
Think it the signal for an avalanche.
Blind
I cannnot see;
Yet God gives shining dreams to me
Of rainbow and of golden-fruited tree.
How many go
Who, seeing yet sightless, never know
How blue the ocean is, how white the snow.
And I shall gaze
Enraptured on the Ray of Rays-
Brighter, perhaps, for all my darkened days.
Both by Maynard.

So, I thought my luck was changing... WRONG.

Last week, I fell at my job and it was a bad one. I popped a blood vessel in my arm and it looks great (NOT! Ask anyone who has seen it.). Also, I have many bruise to account for this fall. I will tell you this though, that I am extremely lucky to not break any bones.
So in the last month or so... I have faced pneumonia, hit my car, gone further in debt, and fell really bad. When will it stop?

I am excited about a few things, though. I got to see an ultrasound of a baby, and it was awesome. I got to see this little boy, who is about to welcome this world with his beautiful presence, and it just got me so excited. He waved his little toes on the ultrasound, and I just couldn't help but to giggle at how cute that was. I could talk all day about it.
Also, my family comes next week to see me. I miss them so much. Especially, my niece, she is such a cutie. So, I will be busy in the coming week with my job, my family coming, and not to mention the HOLIDAYS :). So... I will start updating hopefully more frequently in the near future, maybe tomorrow after attempting to make doughnut's at my friend's house.

Just to give you an update...

I have been either traveling back and forth to Michigan or fighting my pneumonia for two weeks. So, I am back and will soon have things to talk about.

I like this poem...

I have liked Edgar Allan Poe for a very long time. So, I would like to share my favorite poem from his collection. Though, I do like many of them this one has always stuck to me.
Annabel lee
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea:
But we love with a love that was more than love-
I and my Annabel lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this Kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel lee;
So that her high-born kinsman came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In the kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven,
Went envying her and me-
Yes! - that was the reason (as all men know,
In the kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we-
Of many far wiser than we-
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel lee,
For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling- my darling- my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea,
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

It's time to say Good bye... to old friends and say hello to new ones.

It is now time to say good bye to the "Sinking Boat or the whale (to some of my friends)". Parting is such sweet sorrow... Anyways, to better things....

I would like to introduce you to my new car...

I bought a brand new 2007 Chevy Cobalt. The only thing is I don't have a name for my car... So, have any advice? Names? So here is my news... Is it sweet!

What have I learned this week...

What I have learned this week...
Don't try to take me down, I can now restrain you :)
Don't mess with me when I have to get up at 6 in the morning, You will regret it...
Don't go 72 mph in a 50 mph zone, You will get a ticket (most days)
Don't mess with a bride to be, You will pay for all your actions... (I'm sorry!)
Don't drink caffeine pop, Withdrawals are not fun... aka massive headaches
Don't talk when grumpy, you won't make sense.
Don't try to do laundry when half a sleep, you will come out with some new colors.
Don't start a diet, and got out to eat everyday, you won't get anywhere...
Don't eat at a bar alone at restaurants, you will have strange company...
But most of all, If you have support where you live, you can handle anything...

2 days till the sale...

Sorry for the long absent. After my vacations, I have been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. (Yes, they really do that!) Anyway, I have been really busy and it's not slowing down.

The sale has taken a lot of my time, so after two day, I will be back to myself... kinda. I am going on vacation back to Bay City to see my family and friends the following weekend. In fact, my next four weekends are already planned, so... As you can see I am still going to be busy, but I will make time for this blog. Till this weekend ( I hope to see you there.)... so long.

Florida Trip...

This was our group... minus me. We our ready to roll at this point for our 24 hour tour of the United States of America on our way to Florida. While we were driving we did lots of singing, joking, and as much sleep as possible. :)

After our travels, we head for the beach, and basked in its wonderful glory. For the next couple of days we hung out at the beach and did a little shopping. Nothing really worth mentioning. But, Saturday we went to the Everglades. That was awesome. We went with Capt. Dan. Who was really funny.
We also had a little friend with us, only I don't remember his name. So, I will call him Bob.

Isn't he cute.

The only sad thing is we didn't see any alligators on our boat, but the other group did. :(

After that we went to church at Fort Meyers on Sunday, were we got to do our own greetings (very cool) and lead the afternoon service (well Alexis did). After church, we went to a nursing home to sing. It was such a blessing to do this. They were happy to see us and we even got song to by a very sweet gentleman.

For the next couple of days, we hung out at our pool and beaches before we left. On our last night we sang on the beach and watched the sun go down. It was so beautiful. I didn't want to leave that night.

But that is the end of our trip, it may not have been full of adventure, but it was a trip of a lifetime with the best of friends.

I am so happy...

I am a maid of honor... Yeah. My best friend has chosen me to be her maid of honor. I am truly honored to have such a position in her wedding.

We have been friends for over 10 years (I can't believe its been that long.), and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She stayed with me, when all my friends forsaken me for joining Christ. For that I am forever thankful.

But onto the wedding... I have so many ideas running through my head for her bachelorette party... Don't worry it's nothing bad. But, I have been waiting for this for a very long time, and I can't wait. I have about one year to plan and, to help her of course, so here we go.

6 More Days Till Freedom...(for a little while)

In less than a week, I will be on my way to Florida. I can't wait. I have had so much go on in the past three days that I need a vacation, well I think I need a vacation.

Yesterday, My brother saved a woman (and possibly her trailer) from a fire. He, unfortunately, inhaled a lot of smoke, and my family has to keep watch over him for the next two days...

Then my best friend told me she is engaged, and I am really happy for her. Congratulations!!!

The day before that I was just having a really bad day (missing home, issues that you never thought were an issue, etc) , but luckly I had a friend to talk to. I thank that person very much.

Monday, I came home(Michigan home) from an awesome shopping experience. (Julie, you would be so proud. I got THREE pairs of shoes, four skirts, five shirts, and almost all my outfits are interchangable.) But, when I came home I had a flat tire (second one in a month). This flat tire took three hours to fix, and the tire company. But, I can't complain, they fixed it for free.

I have had more go on, but I have complained enough. I did learn something really cool yesterday. As most of you know, I love board games (my collection of "35" Monopoly games). I learned how to play Settler's of Catan (bad at spelling). I really like this game. I played it for 2 1/2 hours, and I am ready to play again. I could write more, but I need to get ready for work.

So, I hope your week is going good.

Why do you teeth hurt so much...

I can't say anything profound today... because I am still feeling the affects of my pain killers. Yesterday, I had gotten back from weekly shopping, and I felt like I got punched in the jaw. (Last week, I had a temp. crown put in and they tried to fix my other tooth that is having issues. Well, neither one is really fixed, but if you know me... this is my luck.)

I have been in pain for almost 24 hours straight. This is great. The best part is now that I am on pain killers, I have a massive headache and can't take anything for it. You would think that my pain killers would make me feel better and PAIN FREE. NOPE! But, I shouldn't complain about my teeth, they don't hurt anymore, they are just sore from the pain. I go in on Monday, to get everything fixed again, so I should be fine after this LOVELY event.

Well, I am done complaining. I go to Florida in two weeks and I am thrilled. (Pray that my teeth feel better, I want to enjoy Florida. :))

Why?

Last night I ate at a Chinese restaurant with my work, and I said I wanted to try crayfish, and oysters. Bad Idea!!!! So, one of my dear girls brought me those WONDERFUL items. I couldn't let this down, and say no thanks. (I think it was my pride that wouldn't let it go...Stupid Pride and Prejudice. I have to stop watching that movie.) Instead I swallowed my gut instinct and tried both of them. The crayfish was fine, but the oyster had sour cream on it. (Which I absolutely hate, and apparently this restaurant thought is was a good idea to make the oyster like a bake potato. EWWWW!!! ) So... Unfortunately, now I have a horrible stomach ache. :(

So here is my question: Why do we do stupid things in front of people? Is it really pride?

Are you ready to jump...

Yesturday, I had the most profound thing to say and when I got done it disappeared. Now, as I am writing I am no longer able to recall what I wrote... Is this due to my age and because I am surrounded by babies all day long or God just wanted me to think of what I wrote.

I don't know...

I watched two kids jump off a bridge, a couple of days ago, and I was wondering... Do we have enough faith to jump for God when he tells us to? Can we handle things in the unknown? I think we can...

Just watching those kids made me wonder. Can I jump without knowing where my destination is? I would like to think I can, and I think this job was a jump. But, I knew my destination. Does anybody understand what I am saying? Are we really trying to be like children like God wants us to? It's just a thought...
