Not much going on...

I really haven't much to write about lately. I have been healing from back problems... so good not to be in pain all day long. ;) I went home for Thanksgiving, and had the time of my life. Just hanging out with the family was great. I miss them a lot lately. Holidays aren't fun without family around. Tonight, all I could think about is this angel we have up north, that just beeps/flashing the songs. But, I remember just listening to it with my mom in the dark with a village behind it all lit up. Do you ever think about things you did when you were home, and how much you miss it? But, I should tell you that life is going good. I am truly happy here in Indiana.
I just love Christmas. I do get to go home for 7 days this Christmas. I can't wait.
Oh, I do have news. I got a flat screen TV. It is so much better than my old one. People aren't red... never knew that. J/king! I almost got a cat too. There was this cat at Gateway and we needed to find it a home. I volunteered to take it home, and make it an outdoor cat. But, sadly, it disappeared that night and thus didn't get to take it home. But, one of my roommates said I could get a kitten in the spring, and make it the outdoor cat. Yeah! Well, that is it for now. I hope that you have a WONDERFUL CHRISTmas.

Life is always changing...

This has been a very rough week for me. I will start from the beginning. On Monday, I found out that one of my former residents had gotten married on Oct. 17th and her baby/wedding shower was going to be on Saturday. I was excited for her. The baby was due beginning of December. Everything was going well for her. Well, Wednesday, I found out that she got into a motorcycle accident and died. Her husband and baby died as well.
Today was the funeral. It was one of the hardest things to go through in my life. To see someone so young pass away at such a young age, it's just hard to understand. I have to believe that God had a reason for this. That he wanted this family in heaven.
My plea for you today is don't waste time.... don't think there will be a tomorrow. God blesses us with each day and we don't know when it will be our last.

I have been tagged... GRRRRRRR

1. I was a DJ for three and a half years, and I was on cable for one year. Also, I had a follower named Creature... Thank God I never met him.

2. I found a salamander in my garage two days ago, and have decided to keep him. His name is Mikey. I think my fish "TIBBS" is a little jealous. Mikey took his bowl. :( Also, if any knows what to feed a salamander, please call me.... I think he might be hungry.

3. I love to watch A&E movies.... you know Pride and Prejudice kind.

4. I have over 50 monopoly games and am still collecting. If you feel so inclined to buy me any... I need Indiana Jones, Narnia, the new world edition, MEGA monopoly... the list goes on forever.

5. I love the smell of Apples. I can't get the smell enough. Instead of a bouquet of flowers, I would want a basket full of Beautiful Apples, that smell sssssssssssssooooooooooooo delicious.

6. I am going to Nova Scotia next summer for 12 days. This is the largest road trip I will have ever taken. I am also going to brush up on my french. After 10 years of French, all I can say is hello, how are you? Pretty sad!

7. I am a secret pyromaniac. I am fascinated with fire. I love to play with fire (only with candles, I know better to do anything else). So, I am also running out of candles to play with, so if you want to get rid of any just let me know. :)

Well, I fill my part of the bargain. Unfortunately, everyone I know is tagged. Oh well....

Crazy Week

So, if you don't know this is auction week for me. These are a few things I have learned this week:

1. Don't live alone, you get paranoid when your roommates are gone. (I heard knocking ALL NIGHT LONG. Really All night LONGGGGG!)
2. Weekly shopping plus other people's request equals 9 carts of food and milk.
3. Olympics and auction week don't mix. (Olympics should know they can't schedule things without asking me. :))
4. When the storm drain is plugged, your basement will flood.
5. When your over 6ft. tall, it's hard to see a 8 inch tall dog. (Don't worry I'm fine)... Oops, so is the dog too.
6. No Sleep (due to Olympics), means NO patience.

Well, I am sure that I can think of more things, but I am tired. Plus Michael Phelps is on in twenty minutes. I hope to see you at the auction. There is some amazing stuff this year. Including a dinner with my house. So, come on out and have a GREAT time.

I WENT KAYAKING!!!!

Let me tell you about my experience kayaking... I was SCARED out of my mind. I had thoughts about drowning because my kayak would not flip back or some how my legs would get stuck in the kayak and can not get out. My mind was on fire. But luckily my friends convinced me to get out of my comfort zone. So, at about 11:30pm at night, I got in a boat with Chalise and went for it.
We went down the St. Joe River and back. It was the most amazing time of my life. I wish I would had a camera. The moon was surrounded by the clouds. It just so beautiful, and peaceful. I could see this as a new love... Hmmm... But that involves me buying a kayak. Maybe down the road, I could marry a rich guy to buy me a kayak and a black corvette. But, the corvette is a difference story. Well, that is all for now. See ya later;)

Josh Groban...

So, I don't know if you all know how much I am a Josh Groban fan. Well, anyways, I got his new CD/DVD and I am little disappointed. Usually, I am just ecstatic beyond belief, the DVD was up to par, but I was sadden that the CD, only had one new song. Which, if you were a Josh Groban fan, you know that is very odd.
Have you ever been disappointed with a product, that you just couldn't wait to have? I just remember as I opened my mailbox, to find a box. I got into the house, opened the box, and just leap with excitement to find Josh staring back at me. I put the CD into my laptop and found disappointment. It just leaves you with sadness. Oh well, I still like the CD/ DVD. I am, also, comforted to know that a tour is soon to follow.

So,... Just felt like writing about that.

Encouragement...

THE LAMB
Little lamb, who make thee?
Dost thou know who made thee?
Gave thee life & bid thee feed,
By the stream & o'er the mead;
Softest clothing wooly bright;
Gave thee such a tender voice,
Making all the vales rejoice!
Little Lamb who made thee?
Dost thou know who made thee?

Little Lamb I'll tell thee,
Little Lamb I'll tell thee!
He is called by thy name,
For he calls himself a Lamb;
He is meek & he is mild.
He became a little child;
I a child & thou a lamb,
We are called by his name.
Little Lamb God bless thee.
Little Lamb God bless thee.

I have been lately trying to convince one of my girls that life is full of love and compassion with Christ. Also, who this Christ is. I tell her that he is her best friend, his is a tower of strength, and if we seek him he is our shield, when we are in danger. That, he forgives us ALL of our sins, if we come to him. But, lately I have been reflecting in my own life, and find so many times of failing that in which I teach.

So many times, I tell people about Christ and to go to him when we are in need, but how often do Christians (myself included) come to Christ for every problem. We need to search him, and let him be our shield, our leader, and our strength. For how can we teach, if we don't listen to what we preach. Our actions is viewed the most by the world and we need to show them, our faith by our actions, to let everything be in God's hands. So, often I find myself caught up in my worries/frustration that I forget to let God be the one in control. Like tonight, I was unloading my concerns with a friend, and they faithfully reminded me that I need to put it in God's hands and leap with just faith, without knowing the outcome. I guess this blog is more reflective to myself, then anything. I started out thinking of one thing, and ended up writing about how I feel lately.
What are your thoughts? How can we build our blind faith more, to show the people around us to trust our Everlasting God?

Alrighty then...

So, I have been home for a while, but I have been EXTREMELY busy. I have been going home to Michigan for tax purposes, and working really LONG hours. Things should slow down for me for at least a week. Then I will be traveling five weeks in a row.

I haven't had much to talk about lately. My vacation was okay. It rained most of the time, and one day we couldn't even see the ocean from our OCEAN viewed room.
As you can see, this was our lovely day in our hotel room with no view.
There was some cool things we did. We went to Bellingrath Gardens. Which was amazing.

The flowers were gorgeous and I met a new friend.
His name is Fred

Also, we had lots of seafood, and hung out. It was nice to spend seven days with my family. So, I can't complain. After my vacation was over I went on another one with my Gateway family, so my recoup time was a long one.
That pretty much sums up what is going on right now.

I can't make decisions...

I have been contemplating what kind of MP3 player I should buy. The thing is I don't know what to buy, and when I think I have made a decision, I question myself.

So, this is what I want in my MP3 player and maybe someone could steer my the right direction.
Over 24 hours of music
Video options
awesome graphics
can download my pics onto it
Stuff like that....

If any one can help, that would be great.

The new living room...

This weekend in Bluffton, I tried to explain my living room to some brothers. Of course, I was teased because of all the paint that we used. So, I will try to explain it again.

Our living room was all white, it had no real color except our furniture. So, my roommates and I decided to paint it. We painted the bottom half of our living room black and the top a peach/sandy gold with stressing of gray and brown. Also, we put a tint on top the the top paint called candle light. To some people, this sounds weird, but really is not. So I am putting pictures up to clarify what it looks like.

I do have to say that the pictures don't do it justice, but it gives you more of an idea of what it looks like.

Oh, and to all the people who left for home after the wedding, this is what we have received...

Friendship...

What is friendship? What do we look for in a friend? How do we know if we are friends? These are questions that seem very easy to answer, but think about it. Have you ever defined what friendship means to you. Do you go through a list when you meet someone, to see if they are qualified? Do you even question the friends that you have? I have been contemplating what friendship is in the past couple of weeks. So, I went to the Bible for answers. I found scripture that helped me, like Ec. 4:9-12. But something kept coming to me, the ultimate friend. No matter what kind of friends we have, there is only one that is a true friend. Jesus! He has never failed me. This is the person we should look for inside our friends. He is the list, and meaning of friendship for me. This makes me think of a song that I would sing to myself when I first repented... when all me friends left me.

WHAT A FRIEND
What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear.
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer!
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior , still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do they friends despise, forsake thee? Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In his arms He'll take and shield thee, thou wilt find a solace there.

Settlers of Catan...

Have you ever played Settlers of Catan? I started playing this game when I moved to Indiana, and I am warped into loving it. The thing I like about the game is that you can make the board yourself or follow one out of the book. Also, you can EXPAND and I mean expand, like there is Seafarers, Cities and Knights, or a combo of all of them together. You can make the game as big as you like or as small as you like.
The reason I bring this up is... I want to know if other people have ever played it or like it as much as I do. Also, if you have never heard of this game before... I am warning you that I will most likely convince you to play it sometime with me.

So, I guess this is my day to start blogging again.

Why I am not a dog person...
1. Dogs slobber...
2. They can out smart you, some days...
3. You have to walk them, no matter how cold it is (GgggRrrrr)
4. They are not cats...
5. They chew on everything, including your new shoes...
6. They run away on you, when you are not looking. (This is not just Sam)
7. They bark really LOUD.

SO, can someone explain to me why I feel so compelled to watch these critters?
